This has been a strange year. March is typically one of my favorite months. I love the changing seasons of Spring and Fall. Typically, March means warmer weather, flowering azaleas and getting back outdoors. But this March was about locking down. This past Spring meant staying inside, cleaning the house and talking to friends on Zoom.
Now it’s the end of September. Fall is here. The temperature is so nice! The maple trees in front of the Clinton Library are just starting to turn from green to red. The Razorbacks will kick off their football season against Georgia on Saturday afternoon. I love this time of year!
I know it’s a scary time with the coronavirus threatening to have a resurgence. The best medical opinions are that a vaccine won’t be through clinical trials until the first of next year and not available to the general public until late Spring of 2021. So, the onset of colder weather means we are going to be spending more time indoors, wearing our masks.
But, Fall is still a time to celebrate. There is nothing better than putting on a sweatshirt and walking Willy when the temperature is in the sixties. You can’t beat putting on a pot of chili and watching the Hogs beat the Bulldogs. Hey, they got a shot! Plus, there’s nothing like hiking in the Ozarks when the leaves are starting to turn. I love this time of year!
For me, I plan to take a few days to go camping near the Buffalo River. I’m going to take a long ride on my mountain bike and practice my plein air painting techniques. Hopefully, I will be capturing some great fall colors.
Take a look at my collection of fall colors at Matt McLeod Fine Art. Perhaps you will find something that makes you celebrate the changing season. I have original oils on canvas and fine art prints on archival paper, canvas, acrylic, metal and wood. I am also available for painting commissions. But, don’t wait too long. The holiday season is just around the corner.
Cheers!
